Authenticating a wallet owner

Last updated 19 Aug 2026

Ownership of a project is held by a wallet on the Polygon network. The owner can prove control of that wallet by signing a message — no transaction is sent and no fees are charged.

  1. Open the ownership verification link for the project. It opens a time-limited session on certifyip.com showing the project ID, owner address and contract.
  2. Upload the certificate package to load the project.
  3. Connect the owning wallet — MetaMask in the browser, or scan the QR code with a mobile wallet such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet or Rainbow. The wallet must be on Polygon (chain 137); connecting a different address shows "Wrong Wallet Connected".
  4. Sign the message shown. On success the page reads "Successfully Verified!".

Sessions expire after a short time; if you see Session Expired, request a new link.
