Creating a new project

Last updated 19 Aug 2026

A project is the container for the work you want to protect. Everything you log into it is recorded as snapshots and, when you're ready, sealed on the blockchain.

  1. In the Projects tab, choose New Project (or use the "Start a new project" form shown when you have no projects yet).
  2. Name your project. Names must be unique among your existing projects.
  3. Optionally choose a folder to watch — use Browse to point CertifyIP at the folder where you work. You can skip this and add files yourself later.
  4. Click Create project.

Under Advanced you can choose which wallet owns the project on chain: the CertifyIP Custodial Wallet (the default, easiest way to start; you can transfer to your own wallet later) or Your Own Wallet, which you link under Account › Wallets. Projects are recorded on the Polygon network.

If your plan's project limit has been reached, Create project is disabled and the form shows an Upgrade link.
